Accessibility statement

Last updated: · Checked: October 10–11, 2026 · Next review: by April 11, 2027

VenturePath is a free website that teaches how credit works in the US, in English, Spanish and Russian. We want everyone to be able to read our lessons and guides and use our free tools. That includes people who use a screen reader, people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, people who read on a phone with large text, and people who need strong contrast.

Our goal

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. WCAG is the international standard for accessible websites. We do not claim that every page meets it yet. This page explains what we checked, what we know is not right yet, and how to tell us about a problem.

We do not use “accessibility overlay” widgets. We make changes in the website’s own code.

What we checked on October 10–11, 2026

We checked the public part of the site: the pages you can open without an account.

  • In English:
    • the home page, Free lessons and 3 lessons;
    • Credit guides and all 10 guides;
    • all 5 free tools: the ITIN / no-SSN card checker (including its results), the credit score simulator, the utilization calculator, the credit profile quiz, and the secured card vs builder loan calculator;
    • the calculators page, the credit glossary and one glossary term;
    • the sign-in, sign-up and password reset pages;
    • the AI Coach page as you see it without an account (it asks you to sign in);
    • About Us, Contact, Support, Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, Cookie Policy, How we make money, Our editorial standards, the Free page, Articles (our blog) and one article, ITIN card acceptance: verified data (2026), and the “Page not found” page.
  • In Spanish and Russian: the home page, Free lessons, 2 lessons, 2 guides, the ITIN / no-SSN card checker (including its results), and a few more pages in each language — for example, the glossary, another tool, and About Us or Contact.

How we checked:

  1. Automatic checks. We used axe-core 4.13, a free open-source testing tool, in Chromium (the open-source version of Chrome) running automatically in “headless” mode, without a visible window. We used its rules for WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 at levels A and AA, plus its best-practice rules. We checked each page on a computer-size screen (1280 × 800 pixels) and a phone-size screen (390 × 844 pixels), with and without the cookie banner. That is 208 checks of 52 pages and page views (for example, the ITIN card checker before and after you answer), plus 48 checks of 24 more addresses.
  2. Contrast measured on screen. Where the tool could not decide — for example, text on a color gradient — we measured the colors of the text and of the background on a screenshot.
  3. Keyboard only. Using only Tab, Enter, Space and Escape, we went through:
    • the “Skip to main content” link on 17 pages;
    • the ITIN card checker from the first question to the results, in all three languages;
    • the sign-up form;
    • the cookie banner and the cookie settings window.

    We checked that you can always see which item is selected, that nothing covers it, and that the selection is not lost.

  4. The AI Coach chat box. The AI Coach needs an account, and we did not sign in for this check. So we checked the Coach chat box with automated tests instead of a real browser. The message box has a name in English, Spanish and Russian, and the tests found no problems.

After the changes we made, the automatic checks found no WCAG level A or AA failures on these pages. Automatic tools find only some kinds of problems, so this does not mean the site has no barriers. Below is what we know is not right yet and what we have not checked.

What is not right yet, and what we have not checked

  • Charts in lessons. The charts inside lessons (after you sign in) do not yet have a full text version for screen readers.
  • Pages inside an account. We have not yet checked the pages you see after you sign in. These include the dashboard, lessons inside your account, conversations with the AI Coach, Sprint, My Cards, the simulators in the app, and settings.
  • Screen readers. We have not yet tested the site with screen readers (such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, NVDA or JAWS), or with people who use them.
  • Small labels on the home page. For a few small labels on the home page, the tool could not measure the contrast automatically, so it is not confirmed. These are the small badges near the top and, on phones, the module names in the course preview.
  • Other conditions. We checked in Chromium only. We have not yet checked:
    • Safari, Firefox or Edge;
    • zoom to 200% and 400%;
    • high contrast mode in Windows;
    • each of our 54 lessons.
  • Emails. The emails we send (for example, to confirm your email address) were not part of this check.
  • Other websites. Our pages link to other websites, such as government agencies and card issuers. We do not control how accessible those sites are.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on VenturePath is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us:

If you can, please include:

  • the page address or the page name;
  • what you were trying to do, and what happened;
  • your device and browser, and any assistive technology you use (for example, a screen reader or a screen magnifier).

We try to reply within 5 business days. If a page does not work for you, we will try to help you another way. For example, we can send you the text of a lesson or guide by email.

Review

We will review this statement by April 11, 2027. We will review it sooner if we make large changes to the site.
